Kal in the school play

Kal took a page from my younger-days book and participated in his school play.  He played the Coachman from Pinocchio, and was a S-T-A-R!  He spoke clearly, was just the right touch of evil, and had a blast.  Gramma and Grampa, Emily, Jill, Clara, Emmett and our friends Juliet and Mirenne all attended the evening performance, and gave rave reviews.  Next up: Broadway.  :)  More pictures on smugmug.

Kal's birthday

We went to the local Family Fun Center for Kallen's birthday.  He had a bunch of friends there, and almost the entire local family made it, too!  It was a blast.  They played laser tag, video games and ate pizza.  Perfect for an 8 year old.  :)  There are a ton more pictures on smugmug.

Hanging with the guineas

We got two new guinea pigs for Kallen's birthday.  One for Kallen, and another "for the family."  Kallen's is black and named Shadow.  The other is brown and white, and named Humphrey B.  (Humphrey is a hamster in books that the boys have read, and "B" is for "Big" since guinea pigs are bigger than hamsters). They are both males (Eva and I double checked) and they seem to get along pretty good.  We have had a bit of trouble with them doing the Alpha routine, and they have given each other a bite or two, but we are hoping that will calm down once they get used to their new digs.  We built them a cool little hutch out of coroplast (plastic cardboard) and wire shelves.

There are more photos at Jeff's smugmug site.

Some recent pictures

Today (March 14, 2009) the boys just decided to make breakfast in bed for Eva and I.  We were treated to cereal, toast and english muffins, and milk and juice (they don't know how to make coffee).  They weren't super successful at being secret "Mom, what are you going to make yourself for breakfast this morning?", but it was so sweet and we had a blast!  Here is a pic of Eva and her boys:

On Friday (March 13, 2009) I helped Eva again at popcorn.  And I made sure to take a picture that didn't make me look like some homeless dude asking kids for money (see picture from a few weeks ago).  Here I am BEFORE the recess onslaught!  :)

Zoo Trip with Kallen's class

I (Noel) went with Kallen's 2nd grade class to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle on March 4.  It was a great day for the zoo, and I took some fun pictures.  Check 'em out!
